The June 9-10 Hackathon, which had 25 participants selected from 102 applications, sought to arrive at six major breakthroughs in the field of farm technology. Of them, the top five startups will get a platform to present their innovative ideas at the inaugural day of RIBC 2.0 at CPCRI’s Kudlu campus off Kasaragod.

This will essentially be a contest for best technical solution, where the winners will be awarded Rs 50,000 as cash prize besides gain eligibility to directly pitch their idea to secure a KSUM innovation grant of Rs 12 lakh. Moreover, participants with the best solutions relating to agriculture, including food production, will get an opportunity to take forward their research in association with CPCRI and eventually convert the ideas into commercially viable products, organisers said.

The event, being organised with the aim of leveraging technology for the growth of rural economy, will hold sessions on the participation of the country’s top startups, newest technologies in farming and food production, the scope of growth of rural India and the scope of marketing of horticulture products, among others.

KSUM is the nodal agency of the Kerala government for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
