TRIMA 2022 concludes laying road map for development of Kerala capital

Ministers V Sivankutty, G R Anil promise support to take TMA’s initiative forward

Thiruvananthapuram, June 11: Laying the road map for sustainable and inclusive development of the state capital, the two-day management convention of Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), TRIMA-2022, concluded here on Saturday with business leaders, decision-makers and management professionals sharing perspectives on taking the central theme forward.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Shri G R Anil, and Minister for General Education and Labour Shri V Sivankutty, who addressed the valedictory session of the flagship event, lauded TMA for deliberating on strategies to transform the Kerala capital into a city of world class infrastructure and connectivity.

Shri Sivankutty said the government is prepared for a structured discussion with TMA on the major themes and ideas that have emerged from the convention.  

The Government is working on a comprehensive 25-year plan to put the state on a high growth trajectory touching all sectors and areas, Shri Sivankutty said.

A former Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, Shri Sivankutty said collective efforts are needed to tackle issues like waste management.  

Shri Anil said the private sector can play a major role along with the government in the development of the state capital, tapping the full potential of the city, which has great scope to emerge as a hub of of education, healthcare, tourism and industry.

Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman Dr S Somanath, who is the recipient of TMA’s award for Leadership in Management, in his acceptance speech said electronic manufacturing and data management have great scope for business development in Kerala, considering the state’s inherent strengths.

The key element in both these is innovation. Young innovators can use data as raw material to build businesses and tap the domestic as well as global market, including space industry, Dr Somanath said.

Shri C K Ranganathan, President All India Management Association (AIMA), in his online message said local management associations like TMA are the driving force of development across the country.

TRIMA 2022 has chosen the right topics like sustainable development, human capital and word class infrastructure for detailed discussions in relation to the development of the capital city, Shri Ranganathan said.

On the occasion, the Trivandrum Vision 2025 document, released by Kerala Governor Shri Arif Mohammed Khan while inaugurating TRIMA-2022 on Friday, was presented to Ministers Shri Sivankutty and Shri Anil and Dr. Somanath.

Shri C Padmakumar, Co Chairman TRIMA 2022, welcomed the guests at the concluding session. TRIMA 2022 Program Committee Convenor Wg Cdr Ragashree D Nair proposed the vote of thanks.

Over 200 delegates, including industry leaders, decision makers, professionals, members of the business fraternity and policy makers, attended the convention.

TMA is a premier management association in the country affiliated to New Delhi-based All India Management Association (AIMA).
