3rd meeting of the SAARC Culture Ministers

India hosted the 3rd meeting of the SAARC Culture Ministers in New Delhi on 25 September 2014. Its objective was to promote multilateral cooperation in the field of cultural relations by South Asia in the backdrop of a common heritage linking the eight-member grouping. A highlight of the meeting was adoption of a Delhi Declaration to chart a roadmap for cultural ties in the region for 2014-17.

"Ente" Movie Launch

Ente, a gritty, provocative, bi-lingual thriller, is the first mainstream movie produced by acclaimed social activist Dr Sunitha Krishnan. Based on a true story, the 2013 film talks about human trafficking, the flesh trade and the betrayal of trust. It is directed by Rajesh Touchriver and stars Siddique, Lakshmi Menon, Rathna Shekar Reddy, Neena Kurup and award-winner actress Anjali Patil.

Kovalam Literary Festival 2011/2012 (Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram)

The Kovalam Literary Festival was one of the most exciting literary events in the country in 2012, bringing together globally renowned writers as well as some of the most promising talents in modern Indian writing. The festival was held in two legs -- in New Delhi and in Thiruvananthapuram -- and featured writers such as Farrukh Dhondy, Booker nominee Jeet Thayil, David Davidar, Swapan Dasgupta, Timeri N Murari, Biman Nath, Nilanjana Roy, N.S. Madhavan, C.P. Surendran and Benyamin.
